Chittagong University Teachers Association (CUTA) has demanded to cancel Mahmudur Rahman Manna’s graduation certificate from the university following his recent controversial telephonic conversations.
In a press statement, signed by CUTA’s President Professor Benu Kumar Dey and General Secretary Professor Mustafizur Rahman Siddique, put the demand to the university authorities.
The press statement cited that Manna had plotted conspiracy putting the mask of democracy while the leader also instigated the army to take over the state’s power for his heinous interest.
“CUTA is ashamed of acknowledging that Manna was a student of CU who wants killings at the university to topple the government,” said CUTA leaders.
They demanded immediate cancellation of the certificate of Manna in a bid to free the CU from disgrace.
They also demanded immediate legislative action against him and exemplary punishment for him.
On Tuesday, a section of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) of CU unit has erased the name of Mahmadur Rahman Manna from the CUCSU honour board as he wanted corpse on the campus during his controversy phone call with BNP leader Sadek Hossen Khoka.
Manna was a student of Economics department of CU and elected as general secretary (GS) of CUCSU in polls 1972 on behalf of JSD.
