A Swecchasebak Dal leader has been shot after miscreants hurled hand bombs at police in front of Leader of the Opposition Rowshan Ershad's residence in Mymensingh.
The injured, Nuruzzaman is joint convener of Swecchasebak Dal's Kotwali unit.
Kotwali model police station OC Abu Md Fazlul Karim said Nuruzzaman was admitted to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital under police custody.
He added: "Miscreants threw crude bombs targeting police members at Town Hall intersection around 1am on Sunday. Police opened fire at the miscreants, which left Nuruzzaman wounded by bullet."
