Unknown miscreants have set the BNP office on fire at KP Bosu Road in the district town, said Jhenaidah (Sadar circle) police Assistant Superintendent Gopinath Kanzilal to the Dhaka Tribune.
Chairs, tables, fans, and other belongings in the office were gutted, he said.
The miscreants fled away from the spot immediately after the arson attack, the police official said.
Locals rushed to the spot and managed to control the fire, immediately the before arrival of firefighters.
BNP Khulna Division organising secretary, also district unit president and ex-law maker, Mashiur Rahman, condemned the attack.
He blamed the ruling Awami League for the arson.
However, Jhenaidah district unit secretary of the ruling Awami League Advocate Azizur Rahman denied the involvement of AL activists, or its front organisations.
