The BNP has thanked Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on her intent to visit Khaleda Zia to give her condolence at Arafat Rahman’s death.
At the same time the party said BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, who is on medicine following her son’s death on Saturday afternoon, cannot meet Sheikh Hasina.
Khaleda’s Special Assistant Shamshur Rahman Shimul Biswas told reporters in front of Gulshan office on Saturday evening.
As Khaleda fell sick on learning her son’s death she was given some sedatives following doctors advice, he added.
Referring to prime minister’s APS’s contact with him regarding her visit to Khaleda’s Gulshan office, Shimul said: “She [Khaleda] is unable to meet her [Hasina].”
“Whenever she feels better, we will inform the Prime Minister’s Office,” Shimul added.
