Police have arrested six persons including Chandpur district Jamaat-e-Islami general secretary Billal Hossain Miaji.
The Jamaat leader was arrested from near his residence of New Truck Road of the town on Thursday afternoon on charge of torching district Awami League office and planning for more subversive activities, Chandpur Model police station Officer-in-Charge Abdul Quayum told the Dhaka Tribune.
Chandpur Police Super Amir Zafar said being informed of planning for doing sabotage activities during picketing, five other persons were arrested from different places of the town.
