When asked about why the cameras were set up, Masudur Rahman, the Deputy Commissioner of DMP, said the installation is intended to ensure security of BNP chief Khaleda Zia and nothing else.
DMP Headquarters will now be able to monitor developments at the entrance of the BNP chairperson’s office round the clock.
When asked, Mahbub Hossain, said this was nothing but a step to ensure security of the area.
Apart from setting up the camera, the deployment of security personnel was also increased around the Gulshan Office yesterday.
Along with the regular forces, a number of riot police were also found on duty along the Northern and Southern sides of the premises.
