Health Minister Mohammad Nasim has said it is the duty of the government to protect BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia in her “helpless situation.”
Also a Presidium member of the Awami League, Nasim said: “The leaders and activists of the BNP have left Khaleda Zia alone. It is the duty of the government to assist her in her helpless situation, especially when she has sought security.”
He made the statement yesterday while inaugurating a blood donation campaign to mark the 67th founding anniversary of Bangladesh Chhatra League at Dhaka University.
Terming the decision to boycott 10th national election Khaleda’s biggest mistake, he said: “She can resolve her mistake only by participating in the election in 2019 and by taking movement-related training from Awami League and its front organisations.”
