BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has been suffering from respiratory problems as she was affected by pepper spray.
Maruf Kamal Khan, chairperson’s press secretary, told journalists on Tuesday night.
“On Monday, police sprayed pepper in the presence of Khaleda Zia. Since then she is feeling sick. She is facing severe breathing problems and often coughing. She vomited twice with headache,” said Khan.
Khan also said Khaleda sought pray for her health before the nation.
The press secretary also said following expert doctors’ advice, Oxygen and nevulyger were given to BNP Chairperson.
However, a five-member medical team who visited BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia at her Gulshan office around 9pm on Monday told journalists that the BNP chief was not hurt by the pepper spray.
Journalists those were inside the Gulshan office were allowed to join the press briefing and journalists from outside were not allowed.
When Khaleda was trying to come out, police sprayed pepper from outside the gate to disperse her entourage on Monday afternoon.
The confinement of the Khaleda Zia has been entered into the third day amid protests by party men.
