The police have arrested 77 people, including 10 Jamaat-Shibir men, from different parts of Satkhira, a strong hold of Jamaat-e-Islami.
Kamal Hossain, information officer of the district police, said: “The arrestees were wanted in different cases, including vandalism and arson cases.”
“The drive was conducted in between Saturday evening and Sunday evening. We conducted it in order to keep the law and order situation normal in the district.”
