188 JCD activists sued in Feni

A case has been filed against one thousand people with names of 188 Chhatra Dal activists in connection with the vandalism during Friday’s clash between police and activists of BNP’s students’ wing in Feni. 

Meanwhile, the police arrested 72 JCD activists from different areas in the district after since the clash on Friday afternoon.

Of the arrested, 53 were made accused in the case and produced before the court of Senior Judicial Magistrate Alamgir Mohammad Farooqui on Saturday afternoon. 

After hearing, the judge ordered to send them to jail.

Feni town police outpost's SI Kamal Hossain, who filed the case, confirmed this to the Dhaka Tribune.

The drives were going on to arrest the rest of the accused in the case, he added. 

Also Mahbub Morshed, officer-in-charge of Feni Model police station, told that the 53 people were sent to the jail. 

On Friday, JCD factions locked into clash following a crude bomb explosion in the procession that the organisation brought out to mark its founding anniversary in Feni town. 

They vandalised several shops and vehicles.

When the police came in to stop them, a clash with the JCD members took place, which left 10 people injured.
