Update : 02 Jan 2015, 09:32 AM

State Minister for Home Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal has said the BNP would not be allowed to hold its pre-scheduled January 5 rally, if its involvement with any possible subversive activity is found.

He said: “The BNP will not be allowed to hold its January 5 rally, if the law enforcers find any chance of sabotage. They are looking into the matter.”

“It's only January 2. There is still time until the rally date.”

He came up with the forewarning while talking to journalists after inaugurating the Hajj and Umrah fair at the Bangabandhu International Conference Center on Friday.

He also warned the BNP that the government would not tolerate, if “the BNP plans any subversive activity in the name of political programme.”

“The law enforcers will take necessary measure in order to keep the law and order situation normal.”

On the other hand, the BNP has expressed its determination to hold the rally by any means in order to observe what they said “Democracy Killing Day.”

The ruling Awami League also announced to hold a rally on the same day to observe what they said “Democracy Protection Day”.
