Update : 10 Dec 2014, 06:12 AM

A Dhaka court has asked BNP leader Moudud Ahmed to appear before it by 4pm on Wednesday in a case filed with Shahjahanpur police station.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Tarek Moinul Islam Bhuiyan passed the order while conducting the partial charge framing hearing of the case in the morning.

The court rejected a time petition filed by defence lawyer Sanaullah Mia for Moudud and Swechchhasebak Dal leader Mir Sharafat Ali Shapu and asked them to appear before it by 4pm.

Shapu and Moudud were absent during the hearing.

The court also fixed December 28 for conducting the rest of the charge framing hearing.

The case was filed with Shahjahanpur police stations against 23 BNP men under the Speedy Trial Act for creating panic among people, torching vehicles and preventing police from discharging their duties during the BNP rally in front of BNP’s Nayapaltan office on March 2, 2013 in the capital.
