Fakhrul: PM's remark on Khaleda indecent

Update : 06 Dec 2014, 07:54 AM

The BNP has alleged that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s statement regarding Khaleda Zia's meeting at night is indecent and out of political norms.

Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, acting secretary general of the party, made the allegation in a press conference at the party chief's Gulshan office on Saturday afternoon.

“Her [PM] statement was completely indecent and an expression of personal vengeance,” he said.

The press conference was organised to reply to the prime minister’s comments which she made at a press conference held at Gonobhaban on Friday. The premier briefed journalists about her recent Malaysia and Nepal Saarc tours in the press conference.

In Friday's press conference, Sheikh Hasina said Khaleda Zia hatched conspiracies at night.

According to media reports, a group of incumbent and former government officials held a meeting with BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia at her Gulshan office on Thursday night.

The BNP spokesperson said: “Khaleda Zia needs not to hatch any conspiracy to get to power. She assumed the office three times without any conspiracies.”

Fakhrul, however, said it is not the BNP rather it is the character of the Awami League to hatch conspiracy.
