A Swechchhasebak League leader has been stabbed to death by miscreants at Sonadorgara under Lalpur upazila in Natore.
The deceased is Ashraful Islam, 45, son of late Foyez Mondol of Boro Beelshalia village and religious affairs secretary of Lalpur upazila's Swechchhasebak League unit.
Ashraful's wife Chompa Khatun said: “He went out of the house after receiving a phone call on his mobile around 10pm on Wednesday and did not return home after that.”
Later, police recovered his body from Sonadorgara around 9am on Thursday.
Lalpur police station Officer-in-Charge Abdul Hye Talukdar said: “Injury marks were noticed on his body.”
