Muktijoddha Dal unit in Sylhet has called a dawn-to-dusk hartal in the district for Monday, protesting the inclusion of Mayor Ariful Haque Choudhury in the Shah AMS Kibria murder case.
Convenor of Sylhet district Muktijoddha Dal Abdur Razzak announced the shutdown at a rally in the city on Saturday afternoon.
Razzak said: "Ariful Haque Choudhury was implicated in the Kibria Murder case for ill motive.
To remove the mayor’s name from the charge sheet, we called the hartal for Monday."
On November 13, police submitted supplementary charge sheets against 35 people including 11 new persons in the former finance minister Shah AMS Kibria murder case.
