Khaleda to address Kishoreganj rally Wednesday

BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia will address a rally organised by the 20-party alliance in Kishoreganj on Wednesday.

She is be addressing the rally at Kishoreganj Government Gurudayal College ground.

The rally aims to mobilise public support in the favour of the alliance's demand for holding a fresh national elections under a non-party government.

DM Osman Farruk, Khaleda's adviser and also coordinator of the rally, said: “Everything has been set up to welcome the leaders and some eight lakh people are expected to attend the programme.”

Several thousand colourful banners and festoons have been hung on the roadside of Kishoreganj-Bhairasb highway ahead of Khaleda's visit.

Around 600 arches have been erected at different points of Kishoreganj- Bhairasb road for the occasion.

Alliance sources said a total of 17 sub-committees have been formed to carry out various responsibilities to make the rally a success.

BNP's district unit President Md Shariful Alam said around 300 volunteers will be responsible for maintaining discipline at the venue of the programme.

Superintendent of Police, Kishoreganj Anwar Hossain Khan said: “Law enforcers will remain on high alert to maintain law and order and for the safety of the alliance leaders.”
