Some 400 BNP leaders, activists including Gazipur City Corporation (GCC) Mayor MA Mannan, have been sued in connection with a clash between the BNP men and the law enforcers that injured 47 people.
Sub-Inspector of Joydebpur police station Mahmudul Hasan filed the case early Sunday on charge of creating violence and obstructing police from performing their duties.
Earlier, 47 people, including 17 police officials, were injured during a chase and counter chase between law enforcers and BNP supporters in Gazipur.
They locked into a chase and counter chase each other when the police barred the BNP members from bringing out a protest rally around 12:15pm on Sunday afternoon.
