DU acting proctor Prof Amzad Ali said the attackers had been identified with the help of the hall’s Chhatra League activists and leaders, adding: “Stern action will be taken after the probe committee submits the report.”

A six-member probe body was formed on Wednesday to investigate the incident and submit a report within seven days.

On Wednesday, four men beat up Imtiaz Alam Beg, principal of Beg Art Institute of Photography, and his two nieces and verbally assaulted them. The victims filed a case with Shahabagh police station in this regard.
