The police, in two separate drives, have arrested five people, including a leader of the district unit Jubo Dal on Sunday night.
Jaglul Haider, assistant general secretary of the district unit Jubo Dal was picked up from the city's Kalibari area, said Abu Mohammad Fazlul Karim, officer-in-charge of Kotwali Model police station said.
He said: “The police also arrested four activists of Chhatra Shibir, the student wing of Jamaat-e-Islami from the city's Notun Bazar and Medical College areas.”
“The arrestees are Sabbir, Faisal,Atik and Sazzad. They were wanted in many cases.”
