Latif Siddique has been expelled from Awami League for hurting the religious sentiments of the people, Awami League general secretary Syed Ashraful Islam said.
The Awami League general secretary made the announcement after a working committee meeting on Friday evening.
Syed Ashraf said: “Latif siddique’s primary membership has been cancelled.”
He was first leader removed from the cabinet and presidium committee of the party, after being served a show-cause notice by the party top-order.
The decision of his expulsion came as the party is not convinced with the reply to the notice, Ashraf told the Dhaka Tribune.
