BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has denounced what Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said in the press conference at Ganabhaban on Thursday as a 'lie.'
The BNP leader held the press conference at the party's office at Nayapaltan on Friday afternoon.
Refuting the allegations of having any role in the killing of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his family members, brought forth by Sheikh Hasina, the BNP spokesman said these allegations are 'baseless.'
In the press conference, Mirza Fakhrul also refuted the allegations of any involvement of Tarique Rahman in the August 21 grisly grenade attack, citing the allegations were 'politically motivated.'
Again, Fakhrul reiterated the allegations against the government led by Sheikh Hasina for disappearances and killings of activists of anti-government parties.
He also said the speech made by the prime minister yesterday [Thursday] bore signs of 'intolerance.'
