The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) on Thursday announced a partial committee of its voluntary wing Jatiyatabadi Swechchhasebak Dal, making Shafiul Bari Babu its president and ex-JCD president Abdul Quader Bhuiyan Jewel general secretary, reports news agencies.
BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir approved the new committee following the directives of the party chairperson, reads a press release.
Mostafizur Rahman was made senior vice-president while Golam Sarwar vice president, Saiful Islam Firoz, Sadrazzaman joint general secretaries and Yasin Ali organising secretary.
Shafiul Bari Babu was the organising secretary of the Swechchhasebak Dal’s previous committee while Abdul Quader Bhuiyan Jewel was the president of immediate past Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) committee.
In August 2009, Swechchhasebak Dal’s previous committee was announced appointing Habib-un-Nabi Sohel and Mir Sarafat Ali Safu as its president and general secretary.
Habib-un-Nabi Sohel was made BNP joint secretary general while Safu the voluntary service affairs secretary in its new executive committee formed after the party’s 19-March council.
