Ruling Awami League Joint General Secretary Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif has said there is no scope to do politics with the statement of Latif Siddique.
The Awami League leader made the statement while talking to journalists at his residence in Kushtia on Friday morning.
He said his party has given the optimum punishment to Latif Siddique by sending him off from the party permanently.
"An arrest warrant is issued against Latif, but demanding to arrest him with the help of Interpol is a peculiar demand," he added.
There is no scope to create unrest with these demands, Hanif said.
Indicating the BNP leaders, Hanif said they must remember that Tarique Rahman is facing many cases. "And if they demand anyone to bring under trial with the help of Interpol Tarique should be the one."
He also added that no opportunity would be given to confuse mass people with the statement of Latif Siddique.
On October 15, a Dhaka court issued arrest warrant against sacked minister Abdul Latif Siddique in a case filed for hurting religious sentiment of the Muslims.
Following his remarks made on September 28 in New York, the ruling Awami League-led government sacked Latif Siddique from the cabinet on October 12. He was also removed from the Awami League Presidium and his primary membership suspended.
