Jatiya Party Chairman, HM Ershad has demanded immediate punishment for former minister Abdul Latif Siddique as soon as he arrives in the country.
The JaPa chief made the demand in a view exchange meeting with Jatiya Tanti (weavers) Party, held at the party’s Banani office in the capital on Thursday morning.
Ershad said: “Democracy cannot be established without good governance. Now we have one-party democracy in the country. Corruption is running everywhere in the country.”
“The fate of general people does not change despite changing of the government,” he added.
He said: "We heard that BNP is planning for movement on streets, but we did not see them on streets. Schedule for their movement is changing again and again as like the civil cases."
The party chief said: “Peoples term me as autocrat. But during my tenure, there were no killing, abduction and disappearances. Now, people even cannot sleep peacefully."
