The Appellate Division yesterday fixed November 27 for a full court hearing on BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s petition challenging her indictment in Zia Orphanage Trust graft case.
The Appellate Division’s vacation chamber judge Md Abdul Wahhab Miah set the date after Khaleda’s counsel TH Khan moved the petition.
The petition was moved a day after Dhaka Special Judge’s Court-3 adjourned till October 26 the recording of testimonies of prosecution witnesses in the Zia Orphanage Trust and the Zia Charitable Trust graft cases as she expressed no confidence in the judge of the trial court.
Khaleda appealed to the Appellate Division against a High Court order passed on April 23 rejecting her two petitions challenging her indictments by the trial court on March 19 in the two cases.
The High Court said that it found no irregularity in framing charges against Khaleda in the two graft cases.
