Police arrested a convicted of former Awami League lawmaker Ahsanullah Master killing from Kotbaria village under Sonaimuri upazila in Noakhali on Wednesday night. The arrestee is Akram Hossain Bhulu 45.
Shawkat Hossain, officer-in-charge of Sonaimuri police station, confirmed the Dhaka Tribune about the arrest.
Ahsanullah Master, a freedom fighter and a lawmaker from Gazipur 2 constituency, was shot dead at a rally of Shechchhasebak League in Tongi in 2004.
A Dhaka court on April 16, 2005, handed down death sentence to 22 people for shooting the AL leader dead.
