BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has claimed that the ruling Awami League is a party of terrorists, saying that its supporters are involved in crimes like killing, murder and disappearances.
She made the claim while addressing a rally organised by the 20-party alliance at Jamalpur Zilla School ground on Saturday afternoon.
She alleged that RAB is killing people in exchange of money. They abduct people and realise ransom.
"We formed RAB to combat militancy, but the Awami League government is using the force to kill the BNP leaders and activists," said the BNP chief.
She demanded the arrest of Col Ziaul Ahsan of RAB for the Narayanganj seven murders incident.
Alleging that the government is controlling the media, Khaleda said: "Only those people are allowed to take part in television talk shows who would flatter the government."
She said the government has politicised the judiciary, now it amended the constitution to intimidate the justice.
"Now the judges have lost their independence," she said.
Khaleda also alleged that Awami League was involved in the BDR carnage.
"We boycotted the election to show that the people were not with them [Awami League], they were with us," Khaleda said.
She said no election can be fair under the rule of Sheikh Hasina.
Khaleda Zia reached in Jamalpur town at 2:30pm to join the rally.
The tour of Khaleda is aimed at mobilising public opinion in favour of the BNP-led 20-party’s demand for a fresh election under a non-partisan government.
It also meant for mounting pressure on the government to stop extrajudicial killings, enforced disappearances and repressive acts, and revoking the national broadcast policy and 16th amendment to the constitution.
