Police have arrested a BNP leader of Feni district unit in allegations of grabbing market, vandalism and arson.
The arrestee is Manwar Hossain Dulal, joint general secretary of Feni district unit of BNP, said Feni Assistant Superintendent of Police, Shamsul Alam Dulal.
Police, in a drive, arrested Dulal around 4pm from his house in Rampur area of the town, he said.
Dulal is enlisted with the police as a top terror. There are at least 15 cases of killing against him, he added.
The police officer said a case was filed on Saturday morning for vandalism, arson and grabbing of a market in the town under his leadership.
“We are looking into the matter why he was arrested,” said Zia Uddin Mister, general secretary of the district unit of the party.
