A Jamaat leader had been arrested at around 11pm on Friday at Dudhmukha Bazar under Yakubpur union of Daganbhuiya Upazila in the district who is accused in several cases, including attacks on police.
The arrested Shahadat Hossain Mintu (40), son of Golam Mawla, is the vice president of the union.
Sub-inspector (SI) Sajedul Islam of Daganabhuiya Police Station confirmed the arrest and said there were several cases against Shahadat, accusations includes attacks on police.
The police officer said police arrested him acting on a tip-off.
