Those unable to physically attend the 20th national council of Bangladesh Awami League can connect themselves with the mega event through live streaming of the council on social media platform Facebook.
The event is live from Suhrawardi Udyan through verified Facebook page of Awami League at www.facebook.com/awamileague.1949The Centre for Research and Information (CRI), research organisation of the party, is supervising the coverage.
The AL is holding its 20th national council with the theme “Relentless progress on the road of development, holding Bangladesh's head high”.
The whole of Dhaka city has taken up a festive look as the streets and different buildings have been illuminated and decorated centering the occasion.

Around 50,000 participants are expected to attend the two-day council. Councilors and party supporters have already reached Dhaka to attend the national council.
In addition, 53 high profile foreign political leaders from 11 countries - Australia, Austria, Bhutan, Canada, China, Italy, India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Russia and the UK- are also expected to attend at the council.
Currently, Bangladesh Awami League president Sheikh Hasina has been holding the post for the last seven national councils held since 1981, while current secretary general Syed Ashraful Islam has been holding the position for two national councils held since 2009.
