Opposition leader Rawshan Ershad has called upon Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe to continue Japan's support for Bangladesh's development particularly in the RMG sector.
Visiting Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe held a meeting with opposition leader Rawshan Ershad at a city hotel on Saturday evening.
Rawshan has asked the Japanese PM to import knitwear from Bangladesh to bolster the two country's relationships and Shinzo has assured that Japan will look into the matter, Rawshan's political secretary Ghulam Mochi told the Dhaka Tribune.
In regards to Rawshan's request on increasing support for the development of maternal and child health care, Shinzo said Japan would increase its cooperation in this field at the end of the year and will construct some hospitals to ensure the services.
Rawshan also thanked the Japanese PM for their continuous supports for Bangladesh's development since its independence in 1971.
Opposition Chief Whip Tajul Islam Chowdhury, Rawshan's Political Secretary Ghulam Mochi and party Presidium Member Nur-e-Hasna Lily Chowdhury also attended the meeting among others.
