Jatiya Party (JaPa) Chairman HM Ershad blamed that the Awami League government has given shelter to the “godfathers,” whenever it assumes power.
He said: “The Awami League creates godfathers in the country. Whenever the party comes to the power, it gives shelter to the godfathers.”
The Jatiya Party (JaPa) chairman made the allegation at the party’s district conference in Lakhsmipur on Thursday.

Claiming that the AL is not in a stable condition, he said: “As the nation has realised that both the AL and the BNP patronised such type of persons, these parties are not in a stable condition.”
“BNP will set up the Hawa Bhaban again if they come to power.”
Mentioning that the JaPa is totally different from those two major parties, HM Ershad said: “Jatiya Party does not believe in godfathers. None of our members are involved in terrorism.”
Addressing the locals, he said: “I will introduce direct launch service from Lakhsmipur to Dhaka by requesting the prime minister and shipping minister.”
“I will also request the industry minister to create soybean based industries in Lakhmipur.”
He urged for people’s support to form government in the future.
Jatiya Party Senior Secretary Ziauddin Bablu, Water resource minister Anisul Islam Mahmud and Jatiya Party presidium member Taj Rahman were present among others in the program.
