BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi was released from prison on bail on Wednesday. Rizvi’s family members, including his wife, and some BNP leaders and activists received him at the jail gate. According to family sources, Rizvi’s health condition has deteriorated to some extent. So for now he will refrain from political activities. Earlier on Sunday, the Supreme Court upheld the High Court order that granted him bail in an arson case filed with Ramna police station. On October 13, the High Court granted six months anticipatory bail to the BNP leader in the case filed on January 18, 2015 on charges of attempting to kill police after hurling petrol bombs on a vehicle. On August 18 this year, Rizvi surrendered before the court and the court sent him to jail after rejecting his bail petitions in the cases. The High Court on September 7 granted bail to Ruhul Kabir Rizvi in five cases.
