The Jatiya Party submitted its annual income and expenditure report to the Election Commission for 2013, showing lower expenditure than the party’s income yesterday.
According the report, the JaPa earned Tk3.37 crore and spent Tk2.82 crore during the period.
JaPa Senior Joint General Secretary Rezaul Islam Bhuiyan, accompanied by Office Secretary Abu Hasan Mohammad Jewel, handed over the report at the secretariat office around 1pm.
Rezaul Islam Bhuiyan told reporters that they earned the money from monthly fees and nomination fees.
Sources said a total of 27 political parties, including the Jatiya Party and the BNP, submitted their annual financial statements to the EC till yesterday, but 13 parties were yet to submit their audit reports.
