BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has said the party will not tolerate any political harassment in the name of trial.
The BNP spokesperson made the statement in a press conference at party's Nayapaltan headquarter on Sunday morning.
"The government is implicating Tarique Rahman in the August 21 grenade attack to keep him away from next election," Fakhrul said.
He said the government has to find out the real culprits behind the August 21 grenade attack.
Fakhrul came up with the remarks following Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's comment that BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia and her son Tarique Rahman was involved with the grenade attack that tried to kill her on August 21, 2004.
