Police have submitted charge sheet against 13 activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and its student wing Islami Chhatra Shibir for their involvement in exploding crude bombs that left a school girl severely injured last year.
Investigation Officer in the case Sub-inspector Kamruzzaman placed the charge sheet before Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Moshiur Rahman's court on Thursday afternoon.
Nurul Huda, assistant commissioner (prosecution) of Chittagong Metropolitan Police, told the Dhaka Tribune that the court had taken the charges into cognisance.
Antu Barua, 14, a student of Opornacharan City Corporation Girls High School, was severely injured when Jamaat-Shibir activists hurled crude bombs from a pro-hartal procession at Momen Road in Kotwali area on March 18 last year.
