Communications Minister Obaidul Quader said hanging the banners and festoons for day after day with the images of Bangabandhu are derogatory.
The minister made the comment while addressing a meeting on memorial programme on the occasion of national mourning day at Sheikh Hasina Youth Centre at Savar on Tuesday.
Quader said some people are hanging the banners and festoons containing the images of Bangabandhu for years in order to serve their own purposes.
He asked them to put down those banners and festoons after the end of the programme.
Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman is not a name of grief, he is the symbol of our inspiration, Quader added.
He further said no discussion is possible with the killers of Bangabandhu and those who created atrocity on August 21.
Youth and Sports Minister Biren Sikder, Jahid Hasan Rasel MP, Dr. Md Enamur Rahman MP were present in the programme, among others.
