Journalists in Sylhet have demanded the resignation of Social Welfare Minister Mohsin Ali for his derogatory remarks about the media persons.
Over 100 journalists in the district formed a human chain in front of Sylhet Central Shaheed Minar on Sunday afternoon protesting the minister's comment.
The journalists said such attitude of the minister was the sign of mental disorder.
They also declared to go for tougher movement if the minister is not removed from the cabinet.
Minister Syed Mohsin Ali, widely known as "smoking minister" since his controversial act in last January, called journalists "Khobish," a Bangla slang, which roughly means disgusting and dirty.
While addressing discussion programme in Sylhet on Saturday, the minister also said journalists were “uneducated, non-graduate and characterless.”
