Sajeeb Wazed Joy, son of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, has expressed desire to be active in politics.
“So far, I have not been visible in politics. Now I want to be visible,” he told a meeting of the ruling Awami League’s organising secretaries at the party chief’s Dhanmondi office.
After the meeting, Joy told reporters that the party had various plans for the development of the country.
“The Awami League has ruled the country for the past five years successfully. We will continue it for the next five years and go ahead,” he said.
Joy, who is also the ICT adviser to the prime minister, said they were going to develop a database for all party leaders, from the ward committees to the central body, very soon.
“The Awami League has been successfully leading the country and now our duty is to maintain the party’s strength.”
On his meeting with the party leaders, Joy said he had told his party’s young leaders how they could help the party.
He said he would continue the views-exchange meeting with several wings of the party.
AL leaders Ahmed Hossain, Bir Bahadur, BM Mojammel Haque, AFM Bahauddin Nasim, Misbah Uddin Siraj, Abu Syed Al Mahmud Swapan, Khalid Mahmud Chaowdhury, Dr Hasan Mahmud, Wasim Kumar Ukil, among others, were present at the meeting.
