BNP-backed candidate Dewan Abdul Bashar Badsha has been unofficially declared elected in the Kanchan Municipality poll.
The UNO, Md Lokman Hossain, declared Badsha winner in the election.
Badsha bagged 13,575 votes while his nearest Awami League-backed candidate Rofiqul Islam got 6,736 votes.
Another BNP-backed candidate Mojibor Rahman got 2,165 votes.
Earlier in the day, one man has been killed and over 50 people have been injured in a clash between the supporters of Rofiqul and Mojibor in Tarail Government Primary School polling centre in Rupganj upazila.
