Fakhrul: Making complaint is Awami League's habit

Update : 28 Jun 2014, 01:07 PM

Denouncing Sheikh Hasin's allegation that Khaleda Zia made compliant against the government during meeting with Sushma Swaraj, BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has said making complaints to foreign guests was a habit of the ruling party, not the BNP.

The BNP spokesperson made the remarks while addressing the journalists at the party's Nayapaltan office on Saturday, a day after the premier slammed the BNP chief for reportedly making complaints against the government to the Indian foreign minister.

He claimed that the PM brought such allegation against the BNP chief in order to gain legitimacy for her illegal government.

“A political discussion took place between Khaleda Zia and Susama Swaraj, which can never be called a complaint,” Fakhrul said.

He further said: “The AL chief claimed that Khaleda Zia has made compliant during the meeting which is not true as the BNP never do such things. Making complaint is the Awami League's habit.”

“As the party arranged an illegal election and came to the power illegally, the ruling party members are trying to gain legitimacy by giving this type of provocative speeches.”
