‘Judiciary maintaining double-standards’

Update : 24 Jun 2014, 10:07 PM

Jatiya Party President HM Ershad alleged yesterday that the judiciary  operates under double-standards when pronouncing judgment on the countrymen.

“The people are not getting proper judgment and they have no security. The judiciary hands down different verdicts for the rich and the poor,” JaPa President Ershad said.

He made these remarks while addressing an orientation programme of the newly-formed committee of Jatiya Chhatra Shomaj, an associate JaPa body for students, as the chief guest at the BMA auditorium in the capital’s Nayapaltan.

Later, Ershad, who is also special envoy to the Prime Minister, announced a formula titled “3J formula” to rid the country of the existing political situation.

3J stands for “Jatiya Party, Job and Justice,” which Ershad elaborated on, opining that the formula is a panacea for the problems, including the widespread riots and feuds, which prevail in the country.

The envoy claimed that JaPa is the real nationalist party, not BNP, stating that: “BNP is wholly confused at politics and people do not expect anything better from them.”

Terming himself an autocrat, Ershad said: “I arranged elections for the students at the universities, which is not found in the so-called democratic regime established by the parties [AL and BNP].”
