BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has called upon the people of the country to wage a joint anti-government movement in order to “get rid” of the Awami League government.
Claiming that the country is in grave danger, she said: “The entire country and its people are in grave danger. So, let us wage a united movement against the government.”
The BNP chairperson has made the allegations while talking to the journalists at the Circuit House in Bogra on Sunday afternoon.
Khaleda Zia said: "The government is conspiring to make the country intellectually crippled. The people of the country have become intolerant of the ongoing repression by the illegal government and they want to get rid of it.”
BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia is now on her visit to the northern district of Joypurhat today to drum up public support in favour of their longstanding demand for elections under a non-partisan interim government and protest recent killings and abductions.
She will address a public rally at Ramdeo Bazla Government High School at 3pm.
Earlier, she visited Joypurhat on March 24 last year, however she did not hold any meeting in the district town. She went there to console family members of those who had been killed in police firing during recent clashes.
