Jamaat-e-Islami acting secretary general of Sylhet City unit, Mohammad Fakhrul Islam has been arrested from the city’s Uposohor area.
Shakawat Hossain, officer-in-charge of Shahporan police station has confirmed to the Dhaka Tribune about the arrest.
There were six arrest warrants against him. He will be produced before court on Sunday, said the OC.
Fakhrul is the younger brother of Jamaat’s acting secretary general Dr Shofiqur Rahman.
