Central leaders of the Bangladesh Chhatra League yesterday slammed CU unit BCL men for attacking an Awami League leader.
They said zero tolerance would be showed if any leader or activist of the BCL was found responsible in creating disorder using the name of the organisation.
“Stern measure will be taken if any of the leaders and activists are found violating the rules and regulations of the organisation as well as the educational institution”, said HM Bodiuzzaman Sohag, president of central BCL.
He was addressing as the chief guest at an activist conference at Social Science auditorium on Chittagong University (CU) campus. The CU BCL has organised the event.
With HM Sohag in the chair the programme was addressed by Vice-President Abdul Kader Mohiuddin Mahi, Joint Secretary Hasanuzaman Tarek and Information and Research Affairs Secretary Arshadur Rahman.
Terming the recent attack on Nasir Hydar Babul, assistant secretary of Awami League sub-committee, the organisation president said none would be allowed to stay at the organisation who could not obey the senior leaders.
It is mentionable that a group of BCL activists attacked Nasir Hydar Babul on Saturday.
Talking to reporters over the attack on Awami League leader, Sohag said they had looked into the matter and punitive action must be taken against those who were involved in this connection.
Yesterday, the university authorities took additional security measures on the campus centering the conference that caused immense sufferings for the students.
On Monday, a group of Bangladesh Chhatra League activists loyal to Nasir attacked a bus carrying teachers at Nandirhat in Hathazari upazila protesting the attack on Nasir.
Five people, including Mallika Roy, lecturer at Economics Department of the university, were injured in the attack.
