A faction of the Gonojagoron Moncho yesterday “expelled” Imran H Sarker, the spokesperson for Moncho, declaring him “unwanted” in the platform.
The move came within days after a series of events concerning the Gonojagoron Moncho, which has been blamed on the ruling party supporters.
On Thursday, two Moncho activists were injured, what Imran blamed on Chhatra League while the other faction said it was internal feud.
On Friday, the two factions were forced away by law enforcers from holding simultaneous rallies in the capital that left seven people detained.
The other faction who had blamed Imran for mismanagement and misallocation of funds declared the spokesman unwanted yesterday.
The “expulsion” came from a press conference addressed by Jagroto Jonota Joint Convener Habibullah Mesbah.
The faction blamed Imran for detention of Muktijoddha Sangsad Santan Command President Mehedi Hasan, saying: “Police held them on Imran’s provocation.” The press conference demanded immediate release of Mehedi Hassan and protested the case against Abir Ghosh.
