A Dhaka court has granted bail to BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir in one case filed with Shahbagh police station while denied in another murder case filed with Ramna police station.
Dhaka Metropolitan Session Judge Md Jahrul Haque passed the order after defence lawyer Sanaullah Miah appealed for bail petition on Thursday afternoon.
In these cases, Fakhrul has been accused of murder and sabotage during the BNP’s blockades and shutdowns last year.
On March 27, the court rejected the bail pleas of Mirza Fakhrul in the same cases and sent him back to jail.
On January 20, the High Court granted eight weeks anticipatory bail to Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir in the three murder cases.
