Awami League have expelled a rebel candidate form the party in Lakshmipur Sadar upazila ahead of the upazila election in the area.
Rebel aspirant Mahiuddin Bakul, the latest district publicity of the secretary of the party, was expelled for breaching regulations, a press release said.
The press release issued on Wednesday morning was signed by district Awami League president and general secretary.
Lakshmipur Sadar upazila will go to upazila election on March 31.
Awami League have nominated Lakshmipur Jubo League Convener AKM Salahuddin Tipu for the chairman post.
But, district Awami League publicity secretary Mahiuddin Bakul put his name in on the nomination paper ignoring the decision of the party.
