Communications Minister Obaidul Quader has said BNP has been resorting to falsehood over the upazila polls to energise its activists.
"It has turned out to be the practice of BNP to resort to falsehood. They have been lying everyday over the upazila polls to energise their activists," he said on Friday.
The minister said this while speaking as the chief guest at a discussion at Awami League president Sheikh Hasina's political office at Dhanmondi in the capital, reports BSS.
Obaidul said the elections were held in free, fair and transparent manner now more than ever before.
“We have witnessed various elections during the BNP regime, however polls are held credibly now in the real sense of the term,” the senior Awami League leader added.
The minister said the government has been extending all sorts of support and cooperation to the Election Commission for holding credible polls.
