BNP will stage demonstrations across the country on Monday, to protest sending of its three leaders to jail by a court.
BNP joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi made the announcement at a press briefing at the party’s Nayapaltan Central office in the capital on Sunday.
Demonstrations will be staged by BNP men at every upazila headquarters, district, town and city on Monday.
The party leaders and activists will observe the programme at every thana in the capital on the same day to press for the release of its leaders.
In the briefing, Rizvi has also demanded the release of the BNP leaders.
Earlier in the day, a Dhaka court sent BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, BNP standing committee member Mirza Abbas and its Dhaka City secretary member Abdus Salam to jail, rejecting their bail petitions in connection with three separate cases filed with Ramna and Shahbagh police stations.
